A teenager from Liverpool was among scores of children who swapped homework for swimming with dolphins in a once-in-a-lifetime charity holiday. Sophie Whitgreave, 13, spent a week in Florida on the annual Dreamflight trip along with 191 other children.

Detectives say a number of shots were fired from a car in Whitgreave Avenue, Low Hill, at about 10 last night. Worried residents contacted police, and officers sealed off the scene. No-one was injured but damage was caused to a house and a parked car.
