Preston road deaths: Teen victim named as Shelby Maher
A 17-year-old girl who was one of two people hit by a car and killed in Preston has been named by police. Shelby Lauren Maher, from Preston, and Rachel Murphy, 23, died when they were struck by a BMW in Brockholes Brow on Wednesday evening.

The incident took place around 6.30pm on Wednesday (20 April) when five people were walking down the A59 at Brockholes Brow. Tributes are being paid on social media to Rachel and Shelby. Rachel's family have released a statement in her memory.
