The site is shared by Dawsmere and Three Counties Dog Rescue. A statement was posted on the Three Counties website earlier today. It said: “In the early hours of this morning there was a fire in the offices of the kennels we use for Three Counties.

It happened at Dawsmere Kennels in Spalding Road where the dogs were being kept in offices while waiting to be re-homed. Firefighters from Bourne, Market Deeping and Spalding were called shortly after 5.20am today and used water jets to put out the fire.

Daniel Baker, 32, of Dawsmere Close, was told by a judge at Guildford Crown Court to serve a minimum term of 14 years after he repeatedly struck Georgina Hackett - the mother of his young son - on the head with a mallet on December 1 last year.
